The role requires knowledge of electrical component materials such as ceramics, glasses, metal wire bonding, component staking, conformal coating, and solder. You will conduct each step of an analysis from initial evaluation and photo‑documentation, through electrical testing and destructive testing, to produce a final report. Tools include digital photo‑documentation equipment, electrical component test sets, Sono‑scan, SEM‑EDS, and destructive techniques.
Qualifications You Must Have- University degree (or equivalent experience) with at least 8 years of relevant experience – or an advanced degree with at least 5 years
- Experience in electronic component failure analysis
- Experience analyzing microcircuits, both active and passive devices
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Materials Science
- Knowledge of Government Component Documents (MIL‑STD, MIL‑PRF, MIL‑HDBK) and related QPLs and QMLs
- Knowledge of RF device testing and interconnects
- Strong data collection and reporting skills; ability to present findings
- Ability to work on multiple analyses in parallel
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Familiarity with component datasheets and drawings
- Experience with electrical test equipment such as DMM, curve tracer, parametric analyzers, etc.
- Technical knowledge of electronic component parts and their applications
- Ability to read electrical schematics and perform circuit analysis
- Advanced degree in related disciplines (preferred)
- ABET accreditation (preferred)
