- Work through analyses of electronic materials, including ceramics, glasses, metal wire bonding, component staking, conformal coating, and solder.
- Conduct initial evaluation, photo‑documentation, electrical test, destructive testing, and write a final report substantiating failure conclusions.
- Use laboratory equipment including digital photo‑documentation tools, electrical component test equipment, Sono‑scan, SEM‑EDS, and destructive techniques.
- Determine root causes of failures.
- A university degree or equivalent experience plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or a master’s degree plus at least 7 years of experience.
- Experience in electronic component failure analysis.
- Experience analyzing microcircuits, both active and passive electrical components.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Materials Science.
- Knowledge of MIL‑STD, MIL‑PRF, MIL‑HDBK specifications, QPLs and QMLs.
- Familiarity with RF device and interconnect testing.
- Strong data collection and presentation skills; ability to write clear reports and present findings.
- Experience with destructive techniques and component data sheets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electrical test equipment (DMM, Curve Tracer, Parametric Analyzers).
- Technical knowledge of electronic component parts and applications.
- Reading electrical schematics and circuit analysis.
- ABET accreditation preferred.
USD $132,400 – $251,600 per year.
