Position: Raytheon Full Time 2026 - Effector Power Design Engineer II

Location

Arizona, Tucson – 1151 E Hermans Rd, BLDG M02.

Security Clearance

U.S. citizenship is required. DoD Secret clearance required. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance is mandatory.

Responsibilities
  • Design, analyze, simulate, test, and document power conversion (and related analog) circuitry.
  • Work with non-isolated and isolated switch‑mode power converters and linear converters.
  • Focus on board‑mounted power end‑use applications.
  • Guide circuit card development through design phases, from requirements definition to initial integration testing.
  • Test and validate circuit card designs by developing test procedures, capturing data, and analyzing results to confirm adherence to project requirements.
  • Guide ECAD drafters through layout and routing activities, with moderate support from senior engineers.
  • Assist in layer stackup definition.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field.
  • Design, analysis, test, and/or simulation experience with non‑isolated converter topologies (buck, boost, buck‑boost).
  • Experience using MATLAB, MathCAD, Mathematica, or similar tools.
  • Experience with analog electronics design (FETs/BJTs, op‑amps, high/low/band‑pass filters, clock/data termination, comparator circuits).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Self‑starter, quick learner, thrives in dynamic environments, and has strong time‑management skills.
  • Appreciation for how successful teams are structured.
  • Experience communicating and documenting technical topics at the small‑team level.
  • Experience with wide bandgap devices (SiC, GaN) in power electronics designs.
  • Experience with simulators such as SIMPLIS, SABER, Mentor Graphics DxDesigner, or Hyperlynx.
  • Experience acting as a liaison between program and functional management in a cross‑matrixed organization.
  • Experience with military specifications and design considerations for voltages >400V and/or power >10kW.
  • Experience with three‑phase power systems, power factor control, and inverter/rectifier development.
  • Experience with program management tools such as Earned Value and proposal development.
Salary

USD 68,900 – 131,100 per year.
