As part of Raytheon’s mission, the Effector RF Design Department seeks current college students for an RF Design position to work with a variety of programs as a contributor to detailed design, simulation, product development, and initial product testing. The successful candidate will have educational experience and professional interest in designing RF and microwave hardware, including transmitters, receivers, and exciters. This role includes design and test activities that span preliminary design to integration.
Products support radar and datalink applications on tactical missile programs. The role requires designing for challenging mechanical constraints and extreme environments.
All candidates will work within a larger team didates perform meaningful engineering tasks and gain access to career development opportunities, technical mentors, and the ability to shadow experienced professionals.
This position is in Tucson, AZ and is an on-site role.
What You Will Do- Supporting design and development of transmitters, receivers or exciters.
- Experience designing and optimizing RF circuits – either chains of components (receiver, exciter, etc.) or individual parts (filters, limiters, couplers, etc.).
- Working in a lab to accomplish component characterization as well as module verification and integration of sensitive RF hardware.
- Supporting design of circuit card assemblies (CCAs) with RF or mixed signals.
- Schematic capture and detailed design.
- Provide engineering support through participation in project design reviews, peer reviews, briefings to internal leadership and external customers for all phases of development tasks.
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM major.
- Electronics, electromagnetics, analog, or RF design coursework.
- ABET is the preferred accreditation standard. 3.0 cumulative GPA desired.
- Solid background and practical understanding of RF electronics design considerations.
- Experience with tools such as Mentor Xpedition xDX Designer, System Vision, MATLAB, Math Cad, CST, Microwave Design Studio, HFSS, and ADS.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including role, experience, location, education, and key skills.
