Senior Electrical Engineer - Computer Aided Designer Engineer (ECAD)

Location:

Tucson, AZ. On-site role requiring active Secret DoD security clearance.

• Responsible for Printed Circuit Board (PCB) designs from conception to manufacturing
• Creation of PCB, Circuit Card Assembly (CCA), and schematic drawings for suppliers
• Schematic capture, component placement, routing of traces, Gerber/ODB++ file creation
• Software utilization with Siemens Xpedition Enterprise and Blue Print-PCB
• Design layouts include Rigid, Flex, and Rigid-Flex assemblies
• Work on full designs, re-spins, drawing updates, change notices, copper changes, and process improvement projects within and outside own discipline
• Daily interface with engineering levels and disciplines including Electrical, Mechanical, Components, Test, and Producibility Engineering to ensure overall design requirements are captured, keeping cost, cycle time, and producibility in mind

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and at least 5 years of relevant experience
• Experience with PCB manufacturing or CCA manufacturing principles that affect circuitry and component layout along with RF specific layout techniques
• Experience with the electrical design process including RF layout
• Experience with laying out Rigid, Flex, or Rigid-Flex boards

• Working knowledge of Analog, Digital (DDR), RF, Power, and mixed technology, including multi-layer designs with High Density Interconnect (HDI) technology
• Technical PCB design skills using Siemens design toolset including Xpedition Layout, schematic capture, placement, routing, auto-router, constraint manager, library tools, and Blue Print to create complex PCB and CCA drawings; experience with Altium is a plus
• Export manufacturing data in Gerber and ODB++ formats
• Use of Valor NPI, Design for Manufacturing rule sets, and DRC software
• Understanding and interpretation of drawings related to PCB and CCA
• Familiarity with IPC 6012 & IPC 6013
• Knowledge of military and commercial design standards, GD&T techniques, overall producibility considerations related to electronic packaging
• Knowledge of RF circuitry and filter design
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and customer interaction
• Ability to communicate through various means including Telecom, MS Teams, Zoom, etc.
• Ability to effectively multi-task and improve processes, systems, or products to enhance performance
• Ability to assist in developing technical solutions to complex problems under moderate supervision
• Self-starter ability to work autonomously, establishing schedule and priority needs
• Proactive quality across disciplines with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of operating system concepts, network services related to Microsoft Windows suites
• Willingness to work extended hours (nights and/or weekends) as required
