Electrical Project Engineer – Solar (Commercial & Industrial)

Solar Gain is seeking a driven Electrical Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of Commercial & Industrial (C&I) solar projects. If you enjoy being in the field, solving real-world challenges, and working alongside high-performing teams—this role is built for you.
What You’ll DoAs a key member of our Operations team, you’ll partner closely with the Electrical Construction Manager and field teams to keep projects running smoothly from pre-construction through commissioning.
- Support planning, scheduling, procurement, and execution of solar projects
- Manage material orders, inventory, and equipment readiness
- Coordinate submittals, change orders, and project documentation
- Conduct site visits to monitor safety, progress, and quality
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and local codes
- Assist with commissioning, reporting, and project closeout
- Collaborate with internal teams and interface with customers as needed
This is a safety-sensitive role involving rooftop work, exposure to weather conditions, and proximity to energized electrical systems. Comprehensive training is provided, and strict safety protocols are always followed.
What Success Looks Like- Projects delivered safely, on time, and within scope
- Accurate documentation and reporting
- Strong collaboration across teams
- High-quality, code-compliant installations
- Positive, professional interactions with clients and crews
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Journeyman Electrician certification
- 2+ years in a similar role (solar industry experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of NEC, UBC, and electrical systems
- Project management and organizational skills
- Proficiency with computers and technical tools
- OSHA-10 certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Mix of field and office work
- Travel required (weekly) across Arizona and California
- Work at heights (rooftops up to 30+ feet)
