Electrical Project Engineer – Solar (Commercial & Industrial)

Join a team powering the future of renewable energy.

Solar Gain is seeking a driven Electrical Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of Commercial & Industrial (C&I) solar projects. If you enjoy being in the field, solving real-world challenges, and working alongside high-performing teams—this role is built for you.

What You’ll Do

As a key member of our Operations team, you’ll partner closely with the Electrical Construction Manager and field teams to keep projects running smoothly from pre-construction through commissioning.

  • Support planning, scheduling, procurement, and execution of solar projects
  • Manage material orders, inventory, and equipment readiness
  • Coordinate submittals, change orders, and project documentation
  • Conduct site visits to monitor safety, progress, and quality
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and local codes
  • Assist with commissioning, reporting, and project closeout
  • Collaborate with internal teams and interface with customers as needed

This is a safety-sensitive role involving rooftop work, exposure to weather conditions, and proximity to energized electrical systems. Comprehensive training is provided, and strict safety protocols are always followed.

What Success Looks Like
  • Projects delivered safely, on time, and within scope
  • Accurate documentation and reporting
  • Strong collaboration across teams
  • High-quality, code-compliant installations
  • Positive, professional interactions with clients and crews
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Journeyman Electrician certification
  • 2+ years in a similar role (solar industry experience preferred)
  • Strong understanding of NEC, UBC, and electrical systems
  • Project management and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with computers and technical tools
  • OSHA-10 certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Mix of field and office work
  • Travel required (weekly) across Arizona and California
  • Work at heights (rooftops up to 30+ feet)
Why Solar Gain?

At Solar Gain, we’re not just building solar projects—we’re building a cleaner future. You’ll be part of a team that values safety, integrity, collaboration, and growth
