Electrical Engineer – Production & Test - 3rd Shift

Shift: 3rd (Mon–Fri, 11 pm – 8 am)
Location:
Onsite in Tucson, AZ. Relocation assistance available.
Clearance: U.S. citizenship required;
Secret clearance (active or obtainable).
- Diagnose and resolve electrical issues on complex circuit card assemblies and subsystems within a production environment.
- Perform hands‑on debugging using oscilloscope, logic analyzer, function generator, and power supply.
- Analyze failures, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions across engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams.
- Investigate defects and improve yield to reduce recurring issues.
- Review schematics, PCB layouts, and bills of materials to support failure analysis and resolution.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including manufacturing, quality, test, and suppliers to ensure hardware performance and delivery.
- Generate and maintain technical documentation, including redlines, discrepancy reports, and engineering change packages.
- Evaluate defect trends and production data to identify process and product improvement opportunities.
- Support supplier engagements for technical issue resolution and statement of work development.
- Focus on production support and hardware troubleshooting; design work is not part of this role.
- Operate effectively in a fast‑paced, shift‑based environment with minimal oversight.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- 3–5+ years of experience supporting, testing, or troubleshooting electronic hardware in a production, manufacturing, or lab environment.
- Hands‑on experience debugging complex circuit card assemblies or electronic subsystems (digital, analog, RF, or mixed‑signal).
- Proficiency with oscilloscope, logic analyzer, function generator, and power supply for hardware debugging and analysis.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, PCB layouts, and bills of materials.
- Experience performing root cause analysis and driving corrective actions on hardware issues.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally with manufacturing, test, quality, and suppliers.
- Comfortable working onsite in a shift‑based production environment (3rd shift).
- Active Secret security clearance or obtainable (U.S. citizenship required).
- Experience supporting electrical hardware in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Background in failure analysis, yield improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience working with suppliers to resolve technical issues and implement corrective actions.
- Familiarity with subsystem or system‑level integration and test.
- Experience with engineering change processes (ECOs), redlines, and configuration‑controlled documentation.
- Exposure to design or development of electronic or electro‑mechanical subsystems.
- Experience in high‑reliability or regulated industries (aerospace, defense, automotive, medical, etc.).
- Familiarity with RF or mixed‑signal systems and associated test/debug methods.
- Experience using engineering tools for analysis, simulation, or measurement (e.g., MATLAB, LabVIEW, or similar).
