Job Description:
The QA Chief for the Sky Raider II program will oversee and manage all Quality Assurance personnel and operations at Davis-Monthan AFB. Reporting to the Program QA Manager, the QA Chief implements program quality plans, programs, and procedures to ensure that maintenance actions and procedures conform to established manufacturer, company, and FAA regulatory standards for the OA-1K Sky Raider II aircraft.
This role is responsible for direct supervision of QA personnel, reviewing and analyzing quality and safety discrepancies related to aircraft maintenance action processes, investigating problems, and developing disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies. The QA Chief interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor, and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met and is responsible for the maintenance Quality, Safety and Hazardous Material, Analysis, Training, Functional Check Flight, Publications/Technical Orders, and Environmental Protection Programs.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
- Provide direct supervision and leadership to all QA personnel at Davis-Monthan AFB.
- Report to the Program QA Manager on quality operations, performance metrics, and program compliance.
- Implement and maintain program quality plans, programs, and procedures for OA-1K aircraft maintenance operations.
- Ensure that maintenance actions and procedures conform to established manufacturer, L3 Harris, and FAA regulatory standards.
- Review, analyze, and report on quality and safety discrepancies related to aircraft maintenance action processes.
- Investigate problems and develop disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies.
- Interface with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor, and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met.
- Recommend corrective actions, disposition, and modifications to improve quality and safety.
- Oversee the maintenance Quality, Safety and Hazardous Material, Analysis, Training, Functional Check Flight, Publications/Technical Orders, and Environmental Protection Programs.
- Perform inspections and critical task inspections on OA-1K aircraft.
- Ensure QA personnel meet and maintain assigned training and certification requirements.
- Coordinate OJT training for newly assigned QA personnel as required.
- Ensure compliance with established L3 Harris Corporate policies, procedures, and standards.
- Monitor and review deficiency reports for adverse trends and implement corrective measures.
- Conduct briefings with site leadership, customers, and end-users on quality operations and program status.
- Ensure strict compliance with all required Communications Security (COMSEC) policies and procedures.
- Willingness and ability to work day shift, night shift, and weekend duty and travel as part of maintenance recovery team as required.
- Ability to qualify for CONUS and OCONUS deployments as required.
- Willingness and ability to work in the established work/living environment, work 7 days a week, 12 hour shifts as assigned to support mission requirements.
- In-depth working knowledge of aircraft safety directives.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- In-depth working knowledge (aircraft/vehicle movement and safety/hazards) of flight line operations.
- In-depth working knowledge of aircraft technical orders/job guides/publications-read, interpret, follow and comprehend schematic diagrams, drawings, charts and technical publications.
- Working knowledge (input and extract data) of computers.
- Willingness and ability to work with job related hazardous materials.
- Willingness and ability to conduct specialty on the job training.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Passport for OCONUS travel, as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management to support contract and mission requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum 6 years prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
