Electrical Prototyping Fabrication Technician – Onsite, Tucson, AZ
Responsibilities- Fabricate, maintain, modify, and repair complex prototype electrical assemblies.
- Interpret drawings, schematics, 3D models, written notes, and specifications.
- Lead other technicians in the layout and fitment of electrical, electro‑optical, electro‑mechanical, and mechanical assemblies.
- Adapt methods and procedures to test, analyze, and troubleshoot new hardware.
- Apply advanced skills to test, inspect, and prove‑in complex prototype electrical assemblies.
- Lead in electrical/mechanical engineering drawing peer reviews to validate engineering design specifications and develop producible prototypes.
- Assess complex designs to ensure producibility, maintainability, safety, and reliability.
- Communicate build concerns to customers and collaborate on design improvements.
- Work in closed/proprietary/classified areas without personal communication devices such as phones or tablets.
- AA/AS degree or equivalent 2‑year post‑high‑school training with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience.
- Experience in an engineering environment testing and fabricating electrical assemblies in at least four of the following areas: cables or wire harnesses, breakout boxes and chassis, circuit‑card modifications, and racked electronic equipment troubleshooting.
- Experience reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government–issued Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
- Experience analyzing and interpreting schematics and drawings to identify producibility issues.
- Military electronics or avionics training.
- Familiarity with 3D drawings and CAD tools.
- J‑STD‑001 solder certification.
- IPC 610 & 620 acceptability certifications and inspection experience.
- Salary Range: 60,000 USD – 114,000 USD.
