Overview
Lead Engineering Support Technician role in the Effector Analog & Power (EAP) Department. Responsible for building, installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and inspecting Engineering circuit card assemblies, cables, and harness systems. Involves engineering prototyping, field service, and repair of returned materials. Reworks and modifies Engineering micro-sized components on CCAs, prototype sub-assemblies, completed assemblies, cables, and harness systems per engineering drawings, schematics, or work instructions.
Must be able to repair or replace defective micro-components and wiring, verify conformance, document findings, and provide on-the-job recommendations for hardware integration issues. Compliance with FOD, tool control, and safety regulations. May perform duties at various company locations.
Security:
DoD Secret clearance required; US citizenship or admissible status required to obtain/maintain clearance.
- Modify, rework, and populate Engineering CCAs, assemblies, and subassemblies to ensure proper operation per established criteria. Perform required repairs to returned and damaged units to an operational state.
- Micro-soldering under a microscope for extended periods.
- Build cables and harnesses from schematics.
- Quality verification and inspection under a microscope.
- Identify, repair, and replace wire harnesses and cable assemblies.
- Recognize failures, isolate problems, and suggest corrective action.
- Keep management informed of potential problems or risks that may affect program schedule or quality.
- Typically requires an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, or other 2-year post-high school training.
- Minimum of 8 years relevant experience.
- Experience with solder, mechanical, quality standards, processes, and/or documentation; verification and inspection experience with related standards.
- Experience with cable and harness assembly, fabrication, and/or rework.
- CCA manufacturing experience and associated fabrication standards, processes, and documentation.
- IPC J-STD-001 solder certification.
- IPC 610 and 620 acceptability certification and inspection experience.
- Motivated self-starter with ability to work independently or collaboratively.
- Ability to perform quality work in a fast-paced Engineering technical support environment.
- Solder rework equipment experience (reflow oven, mini-wave, pre-heater, hot air pencil, desolder tools).
- Experience with fabrication processes such as bonding, cleaning, coating, and mechanical fasteners.
- Ability to read and comprehend work instructions, schematics, electronic blueprints, and related drawings.
- Ability to establish customer priorities and manage multiple tasks.
- Proficiency with hand tools (soldering iron, cutters, wire strippers, heat gun).
- Experience assembling, fabricating, and reworking micro-size components on CCAs.
- Existing secret security clearance.

The salary range is 60,000 USD - 114,000 USD, with benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k) match, FSA, flexible schedules, parental leave, PTO, and holidays. Actual offers depend on role, location, experience, education, and skills. This is a U.S.
