What You Will Do
- Assess materials based on conformance to specifications or conduct root cause failure analysis leveraging knowledge of instrumental analysis, including spectroscopy, chromatography, and thermal analysis.
- Collaborate with engineers, subject matter experts, and suppliers.
- Manage and coordinate a wide variety of simultaneous tasks within set schedule requirements, while spending much of the time in the laboratory.
- Become part of a multi‑disciplined team.
- Lift 22 lbs.
- Master’s degree in Chemistry, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Biochemistry, Forensic Science, or a related field.
- Experience with analytical chemistry and instrumental analysis, including infrared spectroscopy, chromatography, and thermal analysis (e.g., FTIR, DSC, DMA, TGA, GCMS, HPLC, GPC).
- Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued security clearance is required prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Experience in material science and polymer science, with knowledge of material testing/analysis.
- Experience with material safety datasheets and large‑scale scientific projects.
- Experience with writing concise technical reports summarizing analyses.
- Experience troubleshooting analytical instrument problems, performing analysis, and interpreting data.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Salary range: 68,900 USD – 131,100 USD. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance; short‑term disability, long‑term disability; 401(k) match; flexible spending accounts; flexible work schedules; employee assistance program;
