Civil Engineering Project Manager - Land Development

Project Manager – Land Development is responsible for the overall success of Commercial Land Development projects, overseeing project performance, quality control, schedule, budgeting, billing, and client relationships. The role provides direction to engineers and technicians and reports to the Land Development Business Unit Leader.

• Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members and external design partners.
• Conduct quality assurance and quality control on assigned projects.
• Coordinate all aspects of the project life cycle, including clients/owners, design teams, and internal staff.
• Prepare and manage project schedules, plans, and budgets.
• Prepare project billing/invoices and follow up with clients to ensure timely payment.
• Develop business relationships with new and existing clients.
• Provide direction to technical staff on project issues and general engineering principles.
• Actively participate in staff career development.
• Represent the company at industry events and conferences.
• Participate in new project interviews.
• Participate in the execution of company strategic initiatives.
• Prepare and negotiate scopes of work, schedules, and fee proposals.
• Evaluate company practices and processes to provide input for continuous improvement.
• Conduct lessons learned meetings.

• Strong understanding of civil engineering design, plan set and specification preparation, and obtaining agency approvals.
• Strong business relationships with Arizona clients at local, county, and state levels.
• Strong people skills and ability to promote a positive teamwork environment.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to successfully lead a motivated team in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of civil engineering design processes in commercial land development.
• Strong project management skills.
• Strong business acumen.
• Effective communicator with a high level of emotional intelligence.

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Arizona.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
• Minimum 5 years of project management experience in Commercial Land Development (preferred in Arizona).

Final agreed upon compensation is based on the successful candidate's individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
