Principal Mechanical Engineer-Structural Engineer

Tucson, AZ – Onsite

Principal Structural Engineer – Mechanical Analysis & Test (MA&T) Department.

• Perform detailed structural analyses for all program phases.
• Generate and execute test plans to validate analysis and hardware compliance.
• Analyze test data to validate models, generate mechanical loads, and define environments.
• Work independently on complex problems within cost and schedule constraints.
• Coordinate and lead technical peer reviews; serve as reviewer for other engineers’ work.
• Present results to internal stakeholders and external customers.
• Prepare detailed, archival technical reports.
• Travel to test sites as required for testing or design discussions.
• Act as a technical leader, defining and developing MA&T processes, tools, and leading teams to meet program milestones.

• STEM degree with a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience (or Advanced Degree + 5 years).
• Strong technical competence in structural analysis (hand calculations and finite element methods).
• Proficiency with software such as PATRAN, NASTRAN, ANSYS, or equivalent.
• Experience leading teams and managing engineering analysts.
• Background in structural testing: planning, organization, execution, data reduction, and correlation.
• Experience with dynamic shock and vibration analysis.
• CAD modeling skills (CREO or equivalent);
  Matlab familiarity.
• Strong communication skills, including presenting to external customers.

• Base salary range: $107,500 - $204,500 USD.

Earned compensation may include annual short‑term or long‑term incentive programs, depending on the level of the position and applicable agreements.
