Ultra Production Chief Engineer – Tucson, AZ
Location:
Tucson, AZ – Onsite
Security Clearance: U.S. citizen required, Secret clearance required prior to start.
Responsibilities- Define and drive production execution based on product vision, strategy, and goals to align with multiple programs and facilitate conflict resolution.
- Ensure technical integrity and engineering execution across the IPT and other functions to meet cost, schedule, and technical requirements.
- Serve as primary technical point of contact with production team and communicate to senior leaders.
- Support capture of new business and influence technical and product line road maps.
- Plan and lead incremental break‑in of upgrades and system improvements.
- Own and drive Configuration Control Board and Supplier Change Board.
- Drive positive change within production environment as stakeholder in Failure Review Boards, FRACAS activities and continuous improvement efforts.
- Technically engage with major subcontractors and partners to ensure product deliverables.
- Direct a team of multi‑disciplined engineers to support production deliveries.
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in system development, design, requirements, verification, integration, and production.
- Experience with modular systems architectures and product lines.
- Technical leadership experience developing work plans and driving execution.
- Experience leading engineering teams and managing multi‑million‑dollar annual budgets.
- Experience in strategic development, customer interface, or contract capture in the defense industry.
- Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued Secret security clearance.
- Excellent communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- RMD Level 4 Certified Chief Engineer.
- Master’s degree in engineering, physics, or related discipline.
- Direct experience with Engineering Risks & Opportunities (R&O) Management.
- Experience across product lifecycle: concept, architecture, design, integration, verification, and production.
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective internal and external customer relationships ensuring satisfaction and continued business.
