Caterpillar’s Integrated Components and Solutions Division is currently seeking a Mining Technology Product Engineering Specialist.

As an Engineering Specialist, you will be part of a technology product development team and will be accountable for the development of system performance requirements and performance evaluation as well as providing project leadership. In this role, you will be focused on the development and performance of the Command for Hauling autonomous haulage solution.

The purpose of this role is to provide technical support to senior team members responsible for system performance and/or product development. This role will support various technology work streams that are part of the Command for Hauling product portfolio including the inclusion of technology to support battery electric machines, new sensing technologies, new positioning technologies, and others. This role will develop use cases and requirements for system operation and performance across varying applications.

That includes ensuring requirements are complete and clear and represent the needs of the end‑user.

The role will then participate in guiding the design concepting, design reviews, reviewing and approving requirements trade-offs, ensuring appropriate design techniques and simulations are applied, overseeing product validation and qualification, and supporting continuous product improvement. The incumbent may be required to provide detailed communications and participate in interactions with customers and regulatory bodies so the incumbent must have good communication and organizational skills.

Degree required.

Knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques to ensure clear understanding; ability to use summarization and simplification techniques to explain complex technical concepts in simple, clear language appropriate to the audience.
