Position Summary
Senior Principal Engineer – Effector RF Design Team, Tucson, AZ, onsite. Supports packaging design for antennas, RF circuit card assemblies, radomes, and RF test equipment. Provides technical oversight, mentorship, and participates in multidisciplinary programs to shape technology roadmaps and modernization efforts.
Key Responsibilities- Lead mechanical design activities for RF hardware packaging.
- Coach and mentor team members; demonstrate effective group dynamics.
- Conduct trade studies to identify optimal solutions for complex challenges and develop forward‑looking plans.
- Deliver high‑quality work while meeting cost, schedule, and performance targets.
- Communicate progress on complex issues to engineering, program, and customer leadership.
- Assume additional roles as needed to support business unit success.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 8 years of experience.
- Experience in design and analysis of RF product packaging (e.g., circuit card assemblies, antennas, radomes, RF test equipment, harnesses, interconnects) across the product lifecycle.
- Proficiency in 3‑D CAD, creation of Technical Data Packages (TDPs) using GD&T.
- Valid or eligible for an interim U.S. government security clearance (Secret) with the ability to obtain special program access after start.
- Design experience with RF‑specific products such as antennas, missile bodies, circuit cards, or RF test chambers.
- Master of Science in mechanical or electrical engineering.
- Leadership roles such as Responsible Engineering Authority, Control Account Manager, or Integrated Product Team Lead.
- Supplier management for build‑to‑print or build‑to‑spec RF products.
- Experience with professional design documentation for leadership and customers.
- Proficiency in Creo Simulate or ANSYS Workbench for preliminary structural and thermal analysis.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Failure investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
- Knowledge of RF PCB stackups, CCA layout, and one‑dimensional tolerance analysis.
- Ability to develop technical proposals, engineering estimates, and white papers.
- Verification test planning, execution, and requirements validation.
Salary range: $132,400 – $251,600 USD. Eligible for relocation assistance.
