Job Overview
The Operations and Supplier Quality team works to ensure quality standards are maintained on the built and supplied hardware used in our Products. Receiving and Shipping inspection plays an important role in this process by providing quality validation of material flowing into and out of our facility. This is a position in a dynamic environment where you will build strong networks and gain competencies with many tools and processes.
Responsibilities- Utilize problem solving skills in support of root cause and corrective action analysis involving nonconforming material.
- Leverage familiarity with inspection processes and company procedures to assure consistency and continuity of receiving inspection activities.
- Collaborate with critical program and functional stakeholders to ensure effective and timely solutions to material and process problems.
- Perform data collection across numerous digital systems and use collected data to conduct data analysis.
- Engage with hourly inspectors in support of quality inspection of supplied material.
- Use standard work, process improvement, and metrics to drive change.
- Support material validations including dimensional measurements and GD&T, XRF testing to validate finishes on electrical components, shelf‑life material management, First Article Inspection (FAI) and Validation (FAV), and serialized hardware configuration control.
- Implement hardware control mechanisms to support ship‑at‑risk and build‑at‑risk processes across sites.
- Lead and support projects related to metrics, standard work, and process improvement.
- Typically a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
- Experience performing root cause and corrective action efforts to drive resolution.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required.
- Strong collaboration skills for stakeholder engagements across distributed teams, functional groups, and programs in various life cycles of development.
- Experience with receiving and shipping inspection processes.
- Familiarity with digital data collection and analysis tools.
- University Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
- Knowledge of serialized hardware configuration, shelf‑life, XRF, dimensional measurements and GD&T, first article validation, and quality requirement flow down.
- Familiarity with SAP and Product Data Management (PDM) systems for data collection, metrics, and analysis.
- Proven experience working individually and leading across teams to drive results.
- Experience working in the aerospace and defense and/or hardware manufacturing industry.
- Salary range $86,800–$165,200 USD.
