Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking a Roadway Construction Inspector/Engineer based in Tucson, AZ to support construction and restoration efforts on major highway infrastructure projects. This position involves on‑site inspection of roadway construction activities to verify compliance with contract documents, state and municipal transportation standards, and all applicable safety requirements. The inspector will monitor contractor performance, document daily work progress, and coordinate closely with project management teams to address and resolve field issues as they arise.
You will be:
- Perform daily on‑site inspection of contractor work to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and city standards.
- Document construction activities, quantities, workforce, and equipment in daily reports.
- Verify proper materials, methods, and safety practices are used on the job site.
- Communicate field conditions and potential conflicts to project management staff.
- Monitor traffic control, public safety, and restoration efforts.
- Assist in resolving construction issues, utility conflicts, and sequencing challenges.
- Attend project meetings and provide input on progress, quality, and compliance.
- HS and 4+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Motor vehicle check is required.
- ADOT experience is preferred.
