Principal Subsystems Integration Engineer

Position Summary

At RTX, we harness more than 100 years of experience to support defense missions. We are looking for an experienced GPS Guidance Electronics Subsystem Engineer to join the Guidance Electronics Team supporting advanced missile systems. The engineer will develop, integrate, analyze, and validate GPS‑based navigation solutions used in mission‑critical defense applications.

• Develop, integrate, analyze, and validate GPS-based navigation solutions for advanced missiles.
• Participate throughout the product lifecycle, partnering with systems engineers, suppliers, and cross‑functional teams.
• Architect new electronic systems and develop subsystem requirements and test plans.
• Conduct peer reviews, present to management and government customers, and lead root‑cause failure investigations.
• Support multiple programs and manage both technical knowledge of system‑level and subsystem interfaces.
• Lead failure investigation teams and present findings; lead circuit card redesign or new design efforts.
• Collaborate with functional management, customers, and suppliers.

• Advance skills in RF/Radar, Navigation/IMU/GPS, digital, and power technologies.
• Lead a technical team solving complex, multi‑disciplined problems across subsystems and system level.
• Gain leadership experience in technical reviews, supplier management, and proposal development.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with equivalent experience (Master’s = 2 years, Ph.D. = 4 years).
• Active, transferable U.S. government‑issued security clearance (Secret) required before start.
• Strong background in GPS technologies, RF electronics, navigation systems, subsystem architecture, requirements development, integration, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Experience designing and troubleshooting antennas, analog RF circuit cards, digital circuit cards, and configurable logic.
• Project leadership, systems engineering, and architecture experience; desire to grow into higher level roles.
• Experience with missiles or similar systems, Earn‑Value Management System (EMVS), Cost Account Management (CAM).
• Knowledge of mixed‑signal electronics, MBSE, and DOD hardware development process.
• Proficiency in circuit card assembly design, manufacturing process, and test.
• Strong communication skills and ability to resolve technical issues efficiently.

• Experience with system‑level integration bench work.
• Leadership of cross‑functional teams and supplier management.
• Proposal development experience.

Location:

Tucson, AZ (US‑AZ‑TUCSON‑9020). Position type:
Onsite. Relocation assistance available. Salary range: $107,500 – $204,500 USD.
