Job DescriptionWithin the Advanced Effector Guidance Systems (AEGS) Department of Raytheon Hardware Engineering, the Digital Section seeks an Electrical Subsystems Digital Senior Principal Engineer. The role involves leading or supporting digital design efforts, digital subsystem architecture design, and early integration of guidance systems. This may include Control Account Management (CAM) responsibilities;
Earned Value (EV) certification is preferred.
- Lead Digital Design Efforts for development guidance systems
- Lead the architectural development of the guidance subsystem through trade studies, requirements decomposition, and detailed design
- Accountable for program execution including cost, schedule, and technical oversight throughout the early development lifecycle
- Support component level design and test reviews
- Mentor and be mentored within Raytheon’s strong culture of mentoring
- Collaborate with functional, program, customer, and supplier stakeholders
- Travel (~25%) as required
- Guide a team through phases of hardware systems lifecycle, including designs, analysis, architecture of new electronic systems, documenting subsystem requirements and test plans, conducting peer reviews, presenting to peers, management, and government customers, and root-cause failure investigations.
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM and at least 10 years of relevant experience
- Ten years of experience in analog, digital, or power electronics design, integration, and production support
- Experience decomposing high-level requirements into actionable design electronics and subsystem architecture
- Subsystem architectural design experience
- Experience in digital subsystems, systems engineering, requirement development, validation, CCA design, digital test integration, or digital supplier management on an effector-based product
- Hands‑on troubleshooting of circuit card assemblies or electro‑mechanical systems
- Active U.S. Secret security clearance and U.S. citizenship required prior to start date
- Proficiency in digital design tools for CCA schematic capture, interconnect capture, and harness design
- Technical leadership on complex subsystems during EMD phase
- Advanced degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, or related field
- Systems engineering thought process with analytical background
- Self‑motivated, multi‑disciplinary work capability
- Background in designing and troubleshooting antennas, RF circuit cards, digital cards, and configurable logic
- Project leadership and desire for higher level growth
- Networking skills across other design, production, program leadership, and manufacturing
- Interpersonal skills for positive interaction with peers, suppliers, management, and customers
- Experience balancing engineering process discipline and innovation for rapid development and program success
- Experience with missiles or similar systems
- Ability to work multiple tasks and priorities
- Knowledge of mixed signal electronics
- Experience in all phases of product development lifecycle
- Experience developing proposals
- Experience leading large, complex trade studies
- Experience developing and materializing conceptual designs and integrating them into a system of systems
Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.
The salary range for this role is $132,400 - $251,600 USD.
