Role SummaryThe selected candidate will be part of a large Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) organization in Tucson, Arizona, serving as a Principal Specialist in the Health & Safety department. The candidate will be a self‑starter, energetic, and able to work in a fast‑paced collaborative team environment.
They will have relevant safety experience with a strength in developing and implementing creative injury‑reduction programs or campaigns, and a track record of continuous improvement for safety programs.
What You Will Do- Coordinate with business partners for EH&S concerns regarding facilities and employee practices.
- May have responsibility for facilities and/or medical at the site.
- Organize and maintain EH&S policies to achieve and maintain compliance with regulations.
- Manage relationships across other specialized departments to achieve and maintain compliance with EH&S regulations and RTX requirements.
- Under the direction of the Safety Manager support and implement safety programs including, but not limited to, contractor safety, confined spaces, Job Hazard Assessment, electrical safety, lockout/tagout (LOTO), fall protection, machine guarding, powered industrial vehicles, cranes/hoist, training, fire & life safety, and others as assigned by management.
- Be a technical resource to support the EH&S Management of Change through design reviews of facilities, processes, and products by interpreting and applying OSHA, EPA, DOT, NIOSH, ANSI, NFPA, IFC, IBC and other applicable regulations and standards.
- Monitor, administer, evaluate, and coordinate company EH&S programs to ensure a safe workplace.
- Develop and advise employee workplace programs related to safety.
- Coordinate confirmation of policies and programs in accordance with industry and government regulations.
- Collaborate across departments to achieve and maintain consistency of health safety program implementation.
- Conduct regular site inspections for compliance with EH&S programs.
- Serve as EHS representative for assigned building and functional safety council.
- Conduct injury investigations and root cause analysis, develop corrective actions and track to completion.
- Lead projects to promote health and safety of Raytheon employees and contractors.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of EH&S strategic initiatives that drive continuous improvement.
- Provide instructor‑led training on various safety topics.
- Provide support for other site EH&S programs such as new chemical reviews, environmental or industrial hygiene.
- Support the site to meet EH&S requirements for upcoming internal and external audits including ADOSH VPP, and other internal company assessments.
This is a 1st shift, onsite position.
Qualifications You Must Have- University Degree or equivalent experience with minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree with minimum 3 years’ experience in a related field.
- 5 years of applicable experience with a focus on safety.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.
- Previous experience working in a government contractor environment.
- Experience and application of regulatory EH&S requirements.
- Experience accurately diagnosing general and complex EH&S issues related to Raytheon operations and implementing practical solutions.
- Experience working with databases and information‑gathering systems.
- Active Secret level or higher security clearance.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP).

Salary range: 86,800 USD – 165,200 USD. Eligible for benefits and incentive compensation programs.
