Position Overview:

The LSE-Lead Systems Engineer is responsible for technical guidance and mentorship of multidisciplinary engineering teams, serving as a senior technical interface with internal and external customers, industry partners, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders. This role supports the Chief Engineer in defining and maintaining technical rigor across production and sustainment efforts for the Stinger Missile program.

What You Will Do
  • Protect system technical integrity and deliver products that meet customer and warfighter needs.
  • Coordinate efforts across multiple disciplines, program efforts, and external customer entities.
  • Communicate technical program status, accomplishments, issues, and help needed to Raytheon leadership, influencing IPTs/CPTs for effective program alignment.
  • Interact and coordinate with program stakeholders to guide program production efforts.
  • Drive hardware obsolescence verifications, manufacturing qualifications, test optimization, and yield improvement.
  • Assimilate knowledge in varied technical fields to achieve balanced system performance.
  • Interpret customer requirements and decompose into actionable direction for the team.
  • Coordinate technical aspects with SMEs across programs using common hardware and software technology.
  • Identify and mitigate risks balancing technical capabilities against the Missile Performance Specification and Weapon Specification requirements.
  • Support incremental break-in of upgrades and system improvements.
  • Drive positive change within production through Failure Review Boards, FRACAS activities, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Lead ERB/CCB activities.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and at least 10 years of engineering experience.
  • Experience leading full systems engineering lifecycle.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related discipline.
  • Experience in producing and testing guidance electronics systems or electronics subsystem products in the Defense Industry.
  • Raytheon Level 4 (or higher) Certified Lead Systems Engineer, or intention to pursue Level 4 certification.
  • 10 or more years of relevant work experience including prior technical leadership across the development and production lifecycle.
  • Experience with RF electronics system performance.
  • Experience with land and air defense missile system architectures and products.
  • Excellent communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience across product lifecycle: concept development, architecture, design, integration, verification, production.
  • Experience with test/support equipment.
  • Ability to develop effective internal and external customer/stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience with Engineering Risk and Opportunity (R&O) and FRACAS management.
