Solidus is seeking a skilled and collaborative Digital Design Engineer to join our defense engineering team. The Digital Design Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing digital circuitry and systems that support the organization’s hardware and technology initiatives. This role involves working closely with cross‑functional engineering teams to define requirements, create efficient architectures, and validate digital components throughout the product lifecycle.
The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, highly analytical, and experienced in modern digital design methodologies.
- Design, implement, and verify digital logic using HDL languages such as VHDL or Verilog
- Develop architecture, block diagrams, and detailed design specifications for digital systems
- Perform simulations, timing analysis, and verification to ensure functionality and performance
- Collaborate with firmware, hardware, and systems engineers to integrate digital components
- Troubleshoot and optimize digital circuits for power, performance, and reliability
- Support board‑level bring‑up, testing, and validation activities
- Prepare documentation including design reports, test plans, and technical presentations
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes
- Other duties as assigned
- 8 years of experience with a Bachelor's or 6 years of experience with a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field
- Proficiency with HDL languages (VHDL, Verilog, or System Verilog)
- Strong understanding of digital logic design, embedded systems, and FPGA/ASIC workflows
- Experience with simulation and synthesis tools (e.g., Model Sim, Vivado, Quartus)
- Knowledge of high‑speed interfaces, timing constraints, and signal integrity principles
- Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and engineering documents
- Solid problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Cultural fit within a collaborative team environment
