Position: Production Test Engineer (PTE)
Location: Tucson, AZ (800‑1151 E Hermans Rd, BLDG 801)
Onsite. U.S. Citizen required. Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued security clearance required prior to start (DoD Secret). Interim clearance also required.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and provide accurate rework instructions for product hardware.
- Create and maintain spares inventory and test equipment obsolescence plan.
- Develop Basis of Estimates (BOE) to estimate costs for additional capacity, new capabilities, and equipment obsolescence.
- Lead projects to reduce test time and improve the test process, analyzing predictive metrics of trends, failure modes, and yields.
- Develop test flows and contribute to test capacity analysis.
- Maintain changes to the test equipment technical data package (drawings, test instructions, test position manuals, system software).
- Assist in non‑routine fault isolation, diagnosis, and repair of the product or test equipment.
- Lead root‑cause and corrective action investigations, presenting findings with fault trees and knowledge point plans.
- Perform risk assessments and support program risk register reviews.
- Required: Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment; ability to obtain and maintain an Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF) permit.
- Preferred: Hands‑on hardware integration and troubleshooting experience; manufacturing environment experience; technical writing expertise; excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; multitasking ability in a fast‑paced environment; ability to develop sustaining solutions to routine technical problems; leadership/mentoring of junior PTEs; interpretation of technical documentation; data analysis skills.
