Principal Systems Engineer - RF Subsystems

Raytheon is seeking a Radio Frequency / Electrical focused Responsible Systems Engineer (RSE) to support RF systems within the Effectors Systems Design & Architecture (SDA) organization.
As a Systems Engineer you will develop and maintain RF and EE system and subsystem level requirements, decompose higher‑level system requirements into RF subsystem requirements, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and guide the integration, verification, and validation of RF products from design through flight testing.
What You Will Do- Develop and maintain RF and EE related system and subsystem level requirements and interface specifications.
- Decompose and allocate higher‑level system requirements into specific RF subsystem requirements for design and testing.
- Provide technical expertise in RF/EE integration, verification and validation, troubleshooting and failure investigations.
- Lead technical discussions, formulate action plans, and coordinate across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Engage with customers and suppliers to conduct technical conversations and ensure requirements alignment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and eight (8) years of experience in one or more of the following domains:
Systems engineering, RF sensor subsystem requirements, integration and verification, signal processing related to RF subsystems, electronic RF circuit card assemblies, firmware/VHDL architecture, or related areas. - Advanced STEM degree with at least five (5) years of professional experience in the above domains.
- Experience performing requirements definition, decomposition and change management.
- Experience capturing and maintaining system requirements documents.
- Active, transferable U.S. government‑issued security clearance required prior to start date.
- U.S. citizenship as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Understanding of the Systems Engineering Product Development Cycle.
- Ability to perform trade studies to optimize system performance.
- Experience evaluating and mitigating technical risks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience giving technical briefs or presentations.
- Experience in a challenging, fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency with MATLAB, C, C#, C++, Python.
