Onsite – Requires a U.S. citizenship and a current or interim Secret‑level U.S. government security clearance.
Perform chemical and thermal analysis on a wide range of materials including adhesives, polymers, tapes, composites, metals, and other production materials. Assess materials for conformance to specifications and conduct root‑cause failure analysis using instrumental techniques. Deliver rapid turnaround results in collaboration with a multi‑disciplinary engineering team, ensuring careful attention to detail. Manage simultaneous tasks within set schedules while spending the majority of time in the laboratory.
Lift up to 22 lbs. as part of daily duties.
- University degree or equivalent experience with at least 5 years of relevant work experience, or an advanced degree with at least 3 years of experience.
- Experience in thermal analysis and characterization techniques (DSC, DMA, TGA, CTE, TC).
- Experience in analytical chemistry and instrumental analysis, including infrared spectroscopy and chromatography (FTIR, GC‑MS, HPLC, GPC, etc.).
- Bachelor’s degree in material science or polymer science.
- Knowledge of material testing/analysis such as hardness, adhesion tests, sample preparation, cross‑sectional analysis.
- Understanding of material safety data sheets and military specifications.
- Current or active DoD clearance or SSBI.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse teams, lead large‑scale multi‑disciplinary projects, write concise technical reports, and troubleshoot analytical instruments.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, planning, and time‑management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Salary range: $86,800 – $165,200 USD. Eligible for benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, paid time off, holidays, and potential incentive compensation programs, subject to specific business unit and collective‑bargaining agreements.
