Overview
Electrical Subsystems Digital Principal Engineer – lead or support digital design efforts for advanced guidance systems within the Advanced Effector Guidance Systems (AEGS) Department role focuses on architecture, requirements, integration, and testing of RF/RADAR, Navigation/IMU/GPS, Data Link/Communication, Digital, and Power subsystems.
What You Will Do- Lead or support digital design efforts for development guidance systems.
- Design and test digital and/or analog hardware, troubleshoot complex circuit card assemblies or electro‑mechanical systems.
- Support component‐level design and test reviews.
- Collaborate with functional and program management, customers, and suppliers.
- Participate in hardware systems lifecycle activities such as architecture design, requirements development, test planning, peer reviews, presentations, and root‑cause failure investigations.
- May serve as Control Account Manager;
Earned Value certification preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in analog, digital, and power electronics design, integration, and production support.
- Ability to decompose high‑level requirements into actionable design and subsystem architecture.
- Experience with digital subsystems, systems engineering, requirement validation, CCA design, digital test integration, or digital supplier management on an effector‑based product.
- U.S. citizenship and an active, transferable Secret security clearance.
- Proficiency in digital design tools for CCA schematic capture, interconnect capture, and harness design.
- Prior technical leadership on a complex subsystem through Engineering, Manufacturing, and Development (EMD) phases.
- Advanced degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, or related fields.
- Systems engineering mindset with strong analytical skills.
- Experience designing and troubleshooting antennas, analog RF cards, digital cards, and configurable logic.
- Project leadership, systems architecture, and a desire for career growth.
- Strong networking and influence skills across departments and manufacturing organizations.
- Interpersonal skills for working with peers, suppliers, management, and customers.
- Experience balancing engineering discipline with rapid development and program success.
- Experience with missiles or similar systems.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Knowledge of mixed‑signal electronics and full product development lifecycle.
- Experience in developing proposals and leading large, complex trade studies.
- Experience materializing conceptual designs into system‑of‑systems integrations.
Competitive salary range: $107,500 – $204,500 USD (based on experience). Relocation support may be provided. Eligible employees may receive annual incentive compensation depending on level and collective agreement.
