Job Description
Senior Systems Engineer I positions available in Tucson, AZ, McKinney, TX, and Huntsville, AL.
Responsible for missile guidance, navigation, air vehicle, control system, embedded software, and missile performance analysis. Tasks include guidance law development, state estimation, sensor fusion, trajectory shaping, wind tunnel testing, CFD analysis, simulation of navigation algorithms, autopilot design, and real‑time GNC algorithm development.
- Develop missile guidance algorithms.
- Code missile guidance algorithms in higher‑order computer languages.
- Develop aerodynamic models and support wind tunnel testing.
- Create simulation kinematics models.
- Analyze missile performance in simulation and flight test.
- Strong graduate‑level academic and analytical background in digital and modern control systems, dynamics, Kalman filter design, aerodynamics, CFD analysis, or signal processing. Transcripts may be submitted upon application.
- Four (4) years of combined academic and applied experience with Matlab, C, C++, and object‑oriented design.
- Past use or familiarity with UNIX and Linux operating systems, as well as Microsoft products.
- Existing or ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret Security clearance.
- Willingness to relocate to Tucson, AZ (relocation package available).
Skills:
- Knowledge of system engineering design methods, requirements analysis, and interface control documentation.
- Research into non‑GPS navigation technologies and advanced sensing.
- Experience with airborne radar systems and RF signal processing.
- Autopilot design expertise (linear/non‑linear systems, adaptive control, robust control, sliding‑mode control).
- Simulation‑based performance analysis, verification, and validation.
- Optimal guidance theory, trajectory shaping, and estimation theory.
- Knowledge of inertial navigation and vehicle state estimation algorithms.
- Experience with hypersonic vehicle aerodynamic and propulsion systems, and related design tools.
