Job Summary
Project Engineer – Engineering Capital & Infrastructure, RTX. Based 100% onsite in Tucson, AZ. Responsible for leading capital and expense infrastructure projects, managing budgets, coordinating cross‑functional teams, and ensuring compliance with RTX policies and security clearance requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Support Engineering Capital Appropriation Requests as subject‑matter expert.
- Develop project requirements and design concepts in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
- Review estimates, ensure alignment to requirements, verify compliance with RTX standards.
- Oversee projects to completion, manage schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
- Serve as key interface for Engineering across laboratories, business units, and external stakeholders.
- Assess existing labs and infrastructure, anticipate future business needs, and develop integrated solutions.
- Execute change management, creative problem solving, and risk mitigation.
- Perform field reviews, verifications of infrastructure and ensure proper facility design.
- Travel to domestic sites 25‑50% of the time and maintain permanent onsite presence.
- Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
- Minimum 8years of relevant experience.
- Project management experience and ability to coordinate multiple projects.
- Experience with owner’s project requirements / current facility requirements (OPR/CFR).
- Experience reviewing architectural, MEP design drawings.
- Experience with field reviews, infrastructure verification, and change management.
- Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD).
- Active, transferable U.S. Secret clearance required before start date.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Architectural Sciences.
- Knowledge of engineering disciplines and their translation to program roles.
- Experience managing capital or facilities expense projects.
- Understanding of DoD classified environments and security guidelines.
- Knowledge of Earned Value Management principles.
- Excellent communication, technical writing, and presentation skills.
- Proposal development and project estimation experience.
- Building construction background.
- Competitive salary range: $107,500–$204,500.
