This role joins the Guidance Electronics Team supporting advanced missile systems. It is responsible for the development, integration, analysis, and validation of GPS‑based navigation solutions used in mission‑critical defense applications.
The engineer will work across the full product lifecycle, partnering with systems engineers, suppliers, and cross‑functional engineering teams to deliver advanced guidance electronics hardware.
Responsibilities- Develop, integrate, analyze, and validate GPS‑based navigation solutions.
- Participate in the full life cycle: design, analysis, testing, verification, and qualification of subsystems.
- Architect new electronic systems and provide subsystem architecture, design requirements, and test plans.
- Conduct peer reviews, present findings to peers, management, and government customers.
- Lead root‑cause failure investigations and present results to customers and higher‑level management.
- Support multiple programs or program portfolios, including foreign travel as required.
- Maintain technical knowledge of system‑level configurations, subsystem interfaces, and circuit‑card level designs.
- Coordinate with functional and program management, customers, and suppliers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with electrical hardware development, subsystems, systems engineering, or requirement development and validation.
- Master’s degree equals 2 additional years of experience, Ph.D. equals 4 additional years.
- U.S. citizenship required; active and transferable DoD security clearance (Secret) required prior to start date.
- Expertise in GPS technologies, RF electronics, navigation systems, subsystem architecture, and integration.
- Experience designing and troubleshooting antennas, analog RF circuit cards, digital circuit cards, and configurable logic.
- Project leadership and systems engineering/architecture experience with missile or similar systems.
- Knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EMVS) and Cost Account Management (CAM).
- Proficiency in mixed‑signal electronics, circuit‑card assembly design, manufacturing processes, and testing.
- Experience with DOD hardware development process, including design gates.
- Ability to manage and lead cross‑functional teams, drive suppliers, and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Experience in system‑level integration benches, test and verification of subsystems and system level.
- Experience developing proposals and using Model Based System Engineering (MBSE).
