Job Overview
The Advanced Effector Guidance Systems team is seeking Electrical Engineers with experience in designing wireless communication and data link systems. This onsite role in Tucson, AZ requires a U.S. government‑issued security clearance (DoD Secret), and candidates must be U.S. citizens.
Responsibilities- Perform concept and performance trade studies, link budget analyses, and demonstrate data‑link communication capabilities.
- Conduct hardware and software communication architecture trade studies.
- Develop, prototype, and test data‑link models and signal‑processing algorithms using high‑fidelity simulations and hardware implementations.
- Test, verify, and validate communication and signal‑processing algorithm requirements in laboratory and field environments.
- Provide engineering support through project design reviews, peer reviews, and briefings to leadership and external customers.
- Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Minimum of 2 years programming and/or simulation experience in MATLAB, Simulink, C/C++, or equivalent.
- Experience in two or more of the following: communication theory, digital signal processing, probability theory, stochastic signal processing, RF and electromagnetic theory.
- Master’s degree in electrical or computer engineering with a focus on digital communications, systems design, data‑link hardware, waveform or signal‑processing.
- Experience with RF subsystem system engineering, waveform simulation (PSK, FSK, OFDM, QAM), and modeling of RF impairments such as phase noise, multipath, and Doppler.
- Knowledge of link budget and propagation modeling, RF transceiver and front‑end design, antenna design parameters, and fixed‑point algorithm simulation for VHDL verification.
- Familiarity with wireless fading models, Layer 2+ protocols, and documentation preparation.
- Strong technical, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills with a focus on manufacturability, producibility, and cost constraints.
- Competitive salary range: $68,900 – $131,100 USD.
