Job SummarySystems Engineers are needed to support missile programs in the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) organization. The role focuses on the Systems V life cycle – from concept development to production and maintenance – and includes hardware and software integration, verification, and troubleshooting for missile systems such as Standard Missile, Tomahawk, Javelin, Coyote, AMRAAM, Storm Breaker, and emerging hypersonic and space technologies.
Responsibilities- Update, maintain, and improve requirements and documentation for development and production efforts, including software and hardware subsystems.
- Create and manage system architecture, interface definitions and description documents, and oversee system integration and verification, collaborating with multiple product team leads and subject matter experts.
- Participate in technical discussions with the customer and work with suppliers and the supply chain organization as the Responsible Engineering Authority (REA).
- Lead verification and validation activities, ensuring that all requirements are assessed during Verification and Qualification testing.
- Conduct trade studies, present results to customers, and support system performance analysis.
- Collaborate with Software, Hardware, Configurable Logic, and Test teams, providing technical expertise in development, integration, troubleshooting, and failure investigations.
- Lead systems verification reviews with the Chief Engineer, Lead Systems Engineer, and Integrated Product Team Leadership.
- Serve as the subject matter expert and mentor for team members and external stakeholders, facilitating knowledge transfer and cross‑functional collaboration.
- Support statistical process control assessments, test equipment software integration, and provide leadership on contract data releases (CDRLs) and technical data packages (TDPs).
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related field).
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience (5 years for entry‑level).
- Experience in software, firmware, configurable logic, hardware, integration, or test.
- Knowledge of Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), requirements development, management, verification, system architecture, and verification strategy.
- Active, transferable DoD Secret clearance required; U.S. citizenship required.
- Top Secret clearance.
- Experience presenting analytical and technical material.
- Agile development practices and digital engineering tools.
- Background in the defense industry and military systems, including tactics, techniques, and procedures.
- Experience with foreign military sales, risk mitigation, and multi‑disciplinary team coordination.
- Familiarity with DOORS, Cameo, C‑PDM, and performance analysis.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.
- Knowledge of system safety, reliability, and configuration management.
Location:
Tucson, AZ. The position is 100% onsite with occasional travel.
