Systems Engineer
The Naval Power Engineering Execution Team is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) to lead and manage our modernization effort for Tomahawk Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) in Naval Air Missiles.
You will lead and manage the HWIL IPT through all phases of the project lifecycle, from requirements definition through development and integration to delivery. You will oversee system integration activities, troubleshooting, risk management, and stakeholder communication, while ensuring schedules, budgets, and technical performance meet program objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the HWIL IPT through all project lifecycle phases.
- Lead system integration activities within HWIL facilities to support system signal presentation.
- Lead troubleshooting and failure investigation activities within the program‑assigned HWIL facilities.
- Generate requirements, statements of work, and verification plans to support HWIL design activities.
- Lead HWIL engineering teams for test system design, assembly, and integration on developmental programs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including systems, software, firmware, modeling, simulation, and algorithm development.
- Work with Program Manager to define project schedules, budgets, and resource requirements, ensuring adherence to program milestones.
- Oversee design, development, and integration of HWIL test environments, including simulation models, hardware, and software components.
- Manage risk identification, mitigation strategies, and resolution of technical challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to foster a high‑performing team environment.
- Act as the point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, communicating project status, risks, and opportunities.
- Support proposal development and planning activities for future HWIL projects and initiatives.
- Attend Failure Review Boards (FRBs) and Change Control Boards (CCBs) as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience.
- Integration experience with hardware, software, and/or firmware.
- Proficiency in software languages such as Java, C, C++, or similar; scripting languages such as Python or Perl; and MATLAB for data analysis.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.
- Proficiency with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Earned Value Management System (EVMS) Certification.
- Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued Secret security clearance (required prior to start).
- Experience with electronics design and data analysis.
- Proficiency troubleshooting systems with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, network analyzers, and spectrum analyzers.
- Knowledge of networking and IP‑addressed equipment.
- Experience with equipment rack assembly, cable assembly/installation, and electronics maintenance.
- Familiarity with communication interfaces such as RS‑232, RS‑485, Ethernet, CAN, and 1553.
- Experience with data acquisition systems, bus analyzers, and related test equipment.
- Familiarity with model‑based systems engineering (MBSE) and Agile development methodologies.
- Experience with HWIL architecture.

Benefits and CompensationSalary range: $132,400 - $251,600.
