Principal Lead System Engineer (LSE) – ESSM Program
Location:
US-AZ-TUCSON-810, 1151 E Hermans Rd, BLDG 810 (External Site)
Role:
Onsite
U.S. citizenship and active DoD Secret clearance required. Ability to obtain interim clearance prior to start date.
What You Will Do- Work across leadership, engineering, and shared services to ensure strategy and execution alignment.
- Coordinate efforts across multiple disciplines and program efforts, including coordination with external customer entities.
- Interpret missile, launcher, and other combat system requirements into actionable direction for program and supplier teams, balancing margin and producibility.
- Provide program leadership to Cross Product Teams and Integrated Product Teams, collaborating with Engineering, Operations, Mission Assurance, and Global Supply Chain.
- Maintain positive employee and team experiences by fostering a supportive environment and guiding management to meet goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) and minimum 8 years of prior engineering experience.
- Leadership experience of large and diverse cross‑functional teams across the development and transition to production lifecycle, including system design, requirements development, management, verification, integration, testing, and production of complex system architectures.
- Experience developing work plans and driving program/team execution.
- Experience working with leaders and customer community stakeholders to influence and guide development of production program projects.
- Ability to develop a fault tree and knowledge point plan.
- Master’s degree in Systems Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience in Digital Engineering, Model Based Systems Engineering, or other model‑based tools.
- Experience in development and production programs, and in shipboard missile system architectures and products.
- Strong communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- History of developing others through teaching, mentorship, and apprenticeship.
- Raytheon Level 4 Certified Lead System Engineer or participation in LSEDP.
- Ability to receive multiple Special Access Program clearances.

- Competitive salary range: $107,500–$204,500 USD.
