Test & Validation Section Manager
Location:
Tucson, AZ – 801 ~ 1151 E Hermans Rd – BLDG 801 (External Site)
- Directly manage a functional team of test engineers to ensure product test integrity and improve test processes.
- Influence testability in product design and prioritize tasks to meet customer needs.
- Coordinate resources, manage team staffing levels, and interface with strategic manufacturing personnel and leaders.
- Provide training, coaching, mentoring, and employee performance development.
- Maintain the technical quality of engineering tasks, product compliance, and oversight of staff timecards.
- Develop sustaining solutions to routine technical problems, troubleshoot manufacturing and test systems, and lead root‑cause and corrective action activities.
- Participate in or lead functional/factory improvement projects.
- Manage a group of 15 or more people, potentially across multiple factories and geographic locations, influencing stakeholders beyond the function.
- Support manufacturing activities and spend significant time on the factory floor in a demanding dynamic environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or an advanced degree with 5+ years related experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience (or 5 years with an advanced degree).
- Proven experience leading people/teams.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) clearance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
- Experience with lean principles in a manufacturing and test environment (preferred).
- Preferred majors:
Electrical, Aerospace, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering Technology. - Strong experience supporting, maintaining, and improving test systems.
- Experience with test equipment proofs and automated test equipment systems.
