An international mining organisation is seeking an accomplished Process Technology Director to provide strategic leadership across mineral processing, process innovation and operational performance.

The Opportunity
As a key member of the technical leadership team, you will provide strategic direction across process technology, metallurgical development and operational improvement initiatives.
You’ll collaborate closely with operations, engineering, project delivery teams and external technical partners to develop innovative processing solutions, evaluate emerging technologies and support the successful delivery of growth and optimisation projects.
Success in this role will be measured by your ability to improve processing performance, strengthen technical capability, influence strategic investment decisions and deliver sustainable operational value across a diverse portfolio of assets.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Technical Leadership
- Develop and implement process technology strategies aligned with long-term business objectives.
- Identify opportunities to improve metallurgical performance, operational efficiency and asset value.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions that support operational excellence and future growth.
- Provide expert technical guidance on complex processing challenges across multiple operations.
Process Development & Optimisation
- Lead the development and optimisation of mineral processing flow sheets for both existing and future operations.
- Support process design, plant expansion studies and technical evaluations.
- Oversee metallurgical test work, ore characterisation programmes and technical investigations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance recovery, throughput, reliability and cost performance.
- Lead multidisciplinary technical projects from concept through implementation.
- Work closely with engineering partners, operations and project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Monitor project performance, manage technical risks and communicate progress to executive stakeholders.
- Support the development of business cases for strategic investment opportunities.
- Champion innovation and continuous improvement across the organisation.
- Assess new technologies and processing methodologies for operational application.
- Foster collaboration with research institutions, technology providers and industry partners.
- Promote knowledge sharing and technical excellence across the business.
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead, mentor and develop high-performing technical teams.
- Build strong relationships with operational leaders, engineering teams and external partners.
- Present technical recommendations and strategic updates to executive leadership.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, safety, accountability and continuous learning.
About You
You are a respected technical leader with extensive experience in mineral processing and a proven ability to deliver strategic improvements across complex mining operations.
You will bring:
- A degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Extensive experience in mineral processing, extractive metallurgy or process engineering within the resources sector.
- Deep technical knowledge across multiple processing disciplines, including plant optimisation, comminution, flotation, hydrometallurgy, process modelling and metallurgical accounting.
- Demonstrated success leading complex technical projects and operational improvement initiatives.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance technical excellence with business outcomes.
- Outstanding leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams across geographically dispersed operations.
- A willingness to travel internationally as required.
