Summary of the Role:

BEPC is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate III to join our client’s site. This role will support the transition of products from Development to Manufacturing as a member of the Assay Transfer team.

The position is responsible for initiating, directing, and executing process characterizations, scientific research, development, and manufacturing process strategies to support new and existing reagent products. The role investigates the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions, products, and problems to ensure manufacturability and improve processes using Design for Six Sigma and Design for Quality and Manufacturability (DQM). Responsibilities include planning and executing laboratory research related to process characterizations, scale-up activities, and process capability improvements, maintaining knowledge of current scientific principles and theories, preparing manufacturing documentation, completing product transfer activities, and contributing to the development of product and process principles through creative and effective solutions.

Additionally, this role leads the design, execution, and troubleshooting of complex laboratory protocols and bench experiments with minimal supervision. The Research Associate III applies analytical judgment to solve technical problems, optimize workflows, maintain detailed records, analyze quantitative data, prepare technical reports, support "Quality First Time" standards, collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicate findings to stakeholders, contribute to project planning, implement laboratory improvements, and train team members in areas of expertise.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate the transition of products from Development to Manufacturing as a member of the Assay Transfer team.
  • Initiate, direct, and execute process characterizations, scientific research, development, and manufacturing process strategies.
  • Support new and existing reagent products.
  • Investigate scientific principles and concepts to improve manufacturability and processes using Design for Six Sigma and Design for Quality and Manufacturability (DQM).
  • Plan and execute laboratory research related to process characterizations, scale-up, and process capability improvements.
  • Maintain broad knowledge of current scientific principles and theories.
  • Prepare manufacturing documentation.
  • Complete transfer activities for new products.
  • Contribute to the development of product and process principles using professional concepts.
  • Lead the design, execution, and troubleshooting of complex laboratory protocols and bench experiments with minimal supervision.
  • Solve complex technical problems and optimize workflows.
  • Identify patent or publication opportunities.
  • Maintain detailed laboratory records.
  • Analyze quantitative data and prepare comprehensive technical reports.
  • Champion "Quality First Time" standards.
  • Collaborate across organizational boundaries and participate in cross-functional technical teams.
  • Communicate technical findings to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to project planning and laboratory improvements.
  • Train team members in areas of expertise.
Qualifications:
  • Education:

    Bachelor's degree in Science, in Life Sciences (preferred).
  • 4–6 years of post-college experience. Minimum of 4 years of relevant job experience.
  • Experience with wet lab and biological techniques.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of experimental techniques and their applications.
  • Ability to search scientific literature to obtain general and specific information.
  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, graphical, and presentation software applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a regulated environment.
  • Manufacturing operations experience.
