An excellent opportunity exists within the Material Estimating Organization as a Senior Proposal Analyst. The estimating organization is responsible for the preparation of various types of proposals for development, production and competitive contracts including modifications to existing contracts. In addition, the Estimating Organization supports gate reviews, government audits, and negotiations with the customer. This position is an onsite role for the Tucson location and will require working classified efforts.
WhatYou Will Do
- Be responsible for the development, analysis and completion of material proposals
- Work with other functions from across the company to understand and evaluate the material and other direct costs associated with proposed contracts and the associated program
- Utilize company estimating and pricing programs and tools
- Lead the development of Material Basis of Estimates to include tracking progress, validating and analyzing supplier quotes and Purchase Order History, ensuring consistency across the program, and confirming the estimating approach is sound
- Ensure proposals comply with all FAR and internal requirements
- Assess, develop and implement solutions leading to a thorough material package
- Perform detailed and complex analysis of inputs to ensure soundness in our material estimates
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s and a minimum of 2 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field
- Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Experience with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), (TINA) and/or other Government Procurement regulations as they pertain to Bid/Cost proposal
- Strong organization and analytical skills
- The ability to work well in teams, with peers and management
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to consistently meet deadlines in a schedule driven environment
- Knowledge and experience with proposal development, price buildup, and estimating and pricing processes
