Position: Senior Test Systems Engineer (onsite Tucson, AZ)

Senior Test Systems Engineer – Tucson, AZ

The Test Solutions Engineering organization includes all of the engineering disciplines responsible for systems design & test of all Raytheon products. This role coordinates across engineering teams to define, design, and document test environment capabilities and requirements for the entire product lifecycle.

Responsibilities
  • Define and influence how prime hardware will be tested at every level (from component to All‑Up‑Round).
  • Apply subsystem knowledge and collaborate with other engineering disciplines to develop and implement subsystem models using Model‑Based System Engineering tools and methods.
  • Detail capabilities, derive requirements, and communicate test equipment needs to Test Equipment designers.
  • Manage requirements traceability and leverage reuse of Test Environment requirements and models to promote efficiency in test design and development.
  • Develop subsystem requirements, interfaces, behaviors, and architecture in collaboration with Technical SMEs.
  • Identify and resolve issues, support related subsystem trades or analysis.
  • Generate briefings, present material to team members, customers, and Raytheon Management.
  • Work autonomously yet collaboratively in a team environment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant engineering experience OR an advanced degree and three (3) years of experience.
  • Experience in Systems Engineering with an emphasis on test requirements development, test methodologies, test requirements documents, integration, verification, and/or validation for test.
  • Experience developing, decomposing, and managing system requirements across a product lifecycle such as design and transition to production.
  • Experience with Model Based Engineering processes, techniques, and tools (Rhapsody, IBM Rational Model Manager, Cameo Systems Modeler/Enterprise Architect, Teamwork Cloud, SysML, UML).
  • Experience with test-related activities throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading small teams or mentoring junior engineers.
  • Experience with Agile processes and techniques.
  • Experience with Dynamic Object‑Oriented Requirements System (DOORS).
  • Experience with development, environmental, qualification, production, manufacturing and operations testing.
  • Strong problem‑solving and debugging skills.
  • Experience working cross‑functionally, including with customers, end users, hardware design teams, and software design teams.
  • Experience with Systems Integration, test execution, and test results documentation.
  • Experience with embedded test techniques, design for test, design margin analysis, and/or design for manufacturing.
  • Experience with Systems Engineering standard views such as Block Definition Diagrams, Context Diagrams, Use Case Diagrams, Sequence Diagrams, and Activity Diagrams.
  • Experience developing Integrated Test and Evaluation Plans.
  • Experience recognizing areas of improvement or customer needs and relaying them to senior staff as business development possibilities.
Clearance Information

Role Information
  • Location:

    Tucson, AZ – 100% onsite.
  • Salary range: $86,800 - $165,200.

  • Eligible for annual short‑term and/or long‑term incentive compensation programs based on level and collective‑bargaining status.
