Job Summary:
The Scare Cast Lead will be responsible for portraying various characters and monsters in the haunt attractions at Nightfall, leading a team of scare actors, and ensuring the highest level of performance and safety. The Scare Cast Lead will maintain the safety and performance integrity of their assigned scare zone or haunt. This role requires a blend of performance skills, leadership capabilities, and the ability to adapt quickly to the dynamic environment of the park.
The Scare Cast Lead will assist the Scare Cast Coordinator in the placement and training of new scare actors, communicate daily with the Entertainment Team to ensure their scare areas are correctly populated and maintained, and report any deficiencies in personnel or technical aspects to the Entertainment Staff for timely and appropriate resolutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Meet with the Scare Cast Coordinator prior to each shift to communicate daily changes or needs.
Communicate with their assigned Scare Actors to provide clear directions and performance.
Understand attractions story and meaning to overarching story in the park.
Become familiar with other assigned attractions movements, dialogue and scare locations.
Lead by example in maintaining high energy and enthusiasm. Maintain a safe, welcoming, positive, and inclusive working environment and advise management with related concerns.
Ensure all scare actors adhere to safety protocols, including avoiding physical contact with guests.
Monitor the environment for potential hazards and take appropriate action to maintain safety.
Other duties as assigned.
Education, Skill, and Work Experience Requirements:
Ability to work up to long days with prolonged standing.
Prior scare/haunt experience
Prior work in theme park events and non-traditional performance environments
Ability to be flexible and adaptive to an ever-changing environment.
Ability to make repetitive motions over extended periods of time.
Commitment to working under shared leadership and in cross-functional teams.
Work Environment:
Standing, walking, and running in locations with unbalanced footing.
Varying temperatures and weather conditions; both indoor and outdoor.
Ability to work in environments with strobe lights, darkness, enclosed spaces, loud music, sound effects, and smoke-filled environments.
Most acting positions require repetitive movement.
Ability to follow guidance from Entertainment Management team.
Fast-paced and exciting environment.
Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays and late hours as production schedule may dictate (required).
