Job Title: Director of Finance
Classification: Exempt
Reports to: CEO
Summary / Objective- Oversee all financial aspects of Cadden Community Management, including budgeting, financial reporting, financial planning, cash flow management, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
- Lead the accounting team, analyze financial performance, and advise leadership on strategic financial decisions to maximize profitability and maintain financial stability.
- Oversee the CCM Homeowner Association Management finance department, organize department deadlines, and interact extensively with clients.
- Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Work with CEO to develop and manage annual budgets, forecast revenue and expenses.
- Conduct financial modeling to evaluate potential business scenarios.
- Analyze financial trends and identify areas for cost reduction and profit optimization.
- Oversee preparation of financial reports and present findings to senior management and the board of directors.
- Accounting Operations:
- Oversee day‑to‑day accounting functions, including AP/AR, payroll, and general ledger.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
- Manage internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risk.
- Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead and develop the finance team, including hiring, coaching, and performance evaluations.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:
- Ensure adherence to all relevant financial regulations and accounting standards.
- Manage external audits and coordinate with auditors.
- Supervise bookkeepers, collection, AP, AR, statement, special projects, and resale personnel.
- Provide complete accounting support for Client Associations: AR, AP, general ledger.
- Review monthly financial reports in accordance with accepted accounting principles.
- Field board member questions regarding reports.
- Field questions from homeowners regarding financial inquiries.
- Formulate and publish accounting internal controls, company policies, and procedures.
- Review adherence to company best practices and procedures.
- Provide staff training.
- Act as a liaison between the company and software providers, banks, payables lockbox, vendors.
- Oversee audits, reviews, compilations, and tax reporting.
- Implementation and utilization of payroll software.
- Bi‑monthly payroll input into Quick Books from reports provided by payroll software.
- Full cycle of accounting duties: daily AR, AP, general ledger, bank reconciliations for Cadden Community Management.
- Code and enter vendor expense invoices, run checks, bill customers and clients, and prepare bank deposits, ensuring that the correct general ledger accounts are debited or credited accordingly.
- Handle all company banking needs, including reconciling monthly bank statements and monitoring cash flow.
- Monthly reconciliation of inter‑company expenses.
- Review and publish monthly financial reports in accordance with accepted accounting principles.
- Assist in budgeting.
- Formulate and publish accounting internal controls, company policies, and procedures.
- Review adherence to company best practices and procedures.
- Facilitate audits, reviews, compilations, and tax reporting.
- Prepare annual 1099s.
- Assist CPA with annual tax preparation.
- Analyze company accounting records and provide cash flow management recommendations.
This role operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, and scanners. Primary programs include Quick Books and Excel.
Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently stands, walks, uses hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The job requires long periods of sitting.
Position Type / Expected Hours of WorkFull‑time. Days and hours:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
No expected travel for this position.
RequiredEducation and Experience
- Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and relevant financial regulations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey complex financial information to non‑financial stakeholders.
- Proven leadership and team management experience.
- 5+ years of experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field – or equivalent work experience.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
