Position Highlights
The Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona is seeking a Senior Economic Forecaster to join the Economic and Business Research Center (EBRC) team. The role will manage the EBRC Forecasting Project, building and maintaining econometric forecasting models for Arizona, its metropolitan and nonmetropolitan areas, and state and local government tax revenue forecasting. The Senior Forecaster will produce regular publications, deliver presentations to clients and the community, and oversee a long‑standing, high‑profile forecasting effort using structural econometric models to forecast key regional macroeconomic indicators including jobs, population, income, and tax revenues.
Duties & Responsibilities- Develop, review and maintain custom regional econometric models to forecast Arizona state and local economic activity and tax revenues for clients; diagnose problems and develop solutions for existing model equations and structures as needed.
- Prepare publications and presentations interpreting complex economic data and explaining to clients and the general public the current and forecast economic performance for the U.S., Arizona, and its regions; provide strategic insights to support decision‑making.
- Prepare regular quarterly/annual forecast updates using EBRC proprietary models for clients and post online distribution files.
- Assist with additional data collection, studies, and projects as needed.
Skills and Abilities
- Comprehensive knowledge of building/using structural econometric models to forecast regional economic variables (jobs, income, population, tax revenues, etc.).
- Advanced knowledge of statistical software such as EViews, R, STATA, SAS, or comparable platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare high‑quality publications.
- Exceptional presentation and public‑speaking skills.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Master's degree required.

Compensation$86,870 – $112,932 per year (salary at 1.0 full‑time equivalency).
