Lead Accountant - Financial Statements
Lead Accountant at Cutler Advisors – responsible for preparing, reviewing, and ensuring the accuracy of client financial statements and related reports.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation of client financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Review and analyze financial data to identify discrepancies, trends, and potential issues affecting tax reporting.
- Collaborate closely with tax preparers to ensure financial statements align with tax return requirements and compliance standards.
- Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing processes for clients as needed.
- Ensure all financial reports comply with GAAP and applicable tax regulations.
- Communicate with clients to gather necessary financial data, explain findings, and address accounting‑related inquiries.
- Assist in developing internal processes and best practices for improved accuracy and efficiency in financial reporting.
- Coordinate with external auditors as needed and assist with audit preparation for clients.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with discretion.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience, including financial statement preparation and analysis.
- Solid understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax principles.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Xero) and MS Excel; experience with tax software a plus.
- Experience in a public accounting or tax preparation firm environment.
- Familiarity with financial reporting for small businesses, partnerships, and individuals.
- Knowledge of tax return preparation processes and required documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously.
Monday to Friday.
Compensation & BenefitsThe total rewards package includes base salary ($80K–$110K annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications) and benefits such as health, dental, and vision insurance; company‑paid life and long‑term disability insurance; supplemental life and short‑term disability options; 401(k) plan with employer contributions; and professional growth opportunities.
