The University of Arizona’s Athletics Department seeks a Financial Analysis Manager II. Reporting directly to the Senior Associate Athletic Director/CFO, this role is responsible for meeting complex financial reporting requirements for the department, including Federal EADA, NCAA/AUP, unrelated business income tax, gift/endowment, Board of Regents reports, and other requisites. The position also serves as a research analyst, developing information systems for peer comparisons and preparing short‑term financial planning recommendations.
Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and travel is required. Visa sponsorship is not available.
- Design and build reporting tools to support the reporting team’s completion of daily, monthly, and yearly financial reports for internal and external constituents.
- Serve as the primary liaison to external auditors (NCAA, campus, outside) and the university’s financial reporting office, responding to inquiries and providing backup documentation.
- Partner with administrators and leadership to execute departmental goals and values.
- Oversee preparation and analyses of financial structure, forecasting, and short‑ and long‑term financial planning for the Arizona Athletic Department.
- Develop and implement policies and training for staff, ensuring procedures are followed and financial plans are sustainable.
- Adapt departmental plans addressing resources and operational challenges.
- Create and influence operating policies, contributing to policy development.
- Research, strategize, and develop information systems for peer comparisons; oversee a team of analysts conducting complex research and analyses from raw data.
- Establish relationships with peer institutions, collect data, develop archives, and publish reports to provide comparison information to executive administration.
- Oversee department planning and serve as consultant to external and internal groups.
- Hire, supervise, and train staff; set attainable goals and manage daily performance to ensure timely responsibility fulfillment.
- Perform special projects and other duties assigned by the Director of Athletics and Senior Associate AD/CFO, including high‑level initiatives.
- Maintain budget accountability.
- Additional duties as assigned.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of related work experience, including 2 years of managerial experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to drive per the University Fleet Safety Policy

- Master of Business Administration in Data Analytics.
- Experience in a college or university athletics department.
- Experience conducting financial analysis and interpreting complex data.
- Experience handling sensitive financial information professionally.
- Experience communicating complex financial information clearly.
- Experience preparing, reviewing, or analyzing high‑accuracy financial reports.
