Role Description

The Director of Finance and Accounting is a full-time, on-site role based at The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa in Tucson, AZ. This role oversees all financial operations of the resort, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning to support business objectives and long-term profitability. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing financial reporting, preparing and analyzing financial statements, monitoring cash flow, and ensuring accurate accounting records in compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.

The Director leads the finance and accounting team, implements internal controls, coordinates audits, and partners with operational leaders to provide financial insights, support decision-making, and optimize revenue and cost management. This role also involves developing financial strategies, presenting results and recommendations to senior leadership, and maintaining strong relationships with external partners such as auditors, banks, and vendors.

Qualifications
  • Strong finance and financial planning skills, including experience in budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial strategy.
  • Proficiency in preparing and interpreting financial statements, with a solid understanding of accounting principles and standards.
  • Advanced analytical skills and experience in financial reporting, including variance analysis and performance metrics.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing finance or accounting teams in hospitality, resort, or related industries is preferred.
  • Proficiency with financial and accounting software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; CPA, CMA, or similar certification is a plus.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Commitment to integrity, confidentiality, and adherence to regulatory and company compliance requirements.
