Local to the Tucson, AZ or Phoenix, AZ market is preferable.

Job Summary

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) serves as a strategic member of the Executive Leadership Team and is responsible for the overall financial stewardship, performance, and long-term sustainability of the organization. The CFO provides leadership across all financial functions, including financial planning and analysis, accounting, treasury management, financial reporting, compliance, risk management, and business performance optimization.

Working closely with executive leadership and the Board of Directors, the CFO drives sound financial decision-making, effective resource allocation, strong governance practices, and organizational growth. This role balances long-term strategic objectives with financial discipline, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance.

Job Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Leadership, Management, and Accountability
  • Provide vision, leadership, and direction for the Finance function, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and strategic priorities.
  • Develop and maintain a high-performing finance team through coaching, accountability, and professional development.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, providing financial insights and recommendations that support informed decision-making.
  • Foster a culture of integrity, transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • Develop and execute financial strategies that support the organization's mission, vision, and long-term objectives.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, forecasting activities, and long-range financial planning.
  • Evaluate strategic opportunities, acquisitions, partnerships, and business initiatives.
  • Provide financial modeling, scenario planning, and business case analysis to support executive decision-making.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders to align business initiatives with financial objectives and organizational priorities.
Financial Stewardship, Governance, and Risk Management
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting and financial operations.
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Maintain compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, tax laws, and reporting obligations.
  • Lead external audits and coordinate relationships with auditors, regulatory agencies, and external advisors.
  • Establish and maintain effective internal controls, financial policies, and governance practices.
  • Safeguard organizational assets and promote ethical conduct, accountability, and compliance throughout the organization.
  • Lead enterprise risk management activities, including identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial, operational, and regulatory risks.
  • Report financial performance, risk exposure, and compliance matters to the Executive Leadership and Board of Directors.
Treasury, Cash Flow, and Capital Management
  • Direct treasury operations, cash management, banking relationships, and liquidity planning activities.
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity requirements to ensure adequate resources support operational and strategic priorities.
  • Develop strategies to optimize cash flow, capital utilization, and overall financial performance.
  • Evaluate financing alternatives and oversee debt, credit facilities, and investment portfolios as appropriate.
  • Monitor financial market conditions and recommend actions that strengthen the organization’s financial position and long-term sustainability.
Business Performance and Strategic Partnership
  • Develop and monitor key financial and operational performance indicators.
  • Analyze organizational performance and provide recommendations to improve efficiency, profitability, and resource utilization.
