Overview
Pima County Grants Management & Innovation (GMI) Department seeks a Grants Manager I to support county departments in identifying and securing funding, preparing grant applications, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The role may supervise staff and contribute to program planning and budget management.
Responsibilities- Research and monitor federal, state, and local funding opportunities.
- Develop, review, and submit grant proposals and program applications.
- Manage award processing, setup, and reporting for county programs.
- Administer federal subawards, monitor compliance, and facilitate grant closeout.
- Collaborate with county departments, public and private agencies, and community partners to promote programs and achieve objectives.
- Maintain program budgets, prepare financial forecasts, and identify funding sources.
- Analyze program performance, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
- Serve as a program representative within the community and deliver informational releases.
- Bachelor’s degree in public administration, education, human services, criminal justice, or related field.
- Four years of professional experience coordinating, monitoring, administering, or managing program or specialized work unit activities.
- The department head may substitute relevant experience and/or education from an accredited college or university.
- One year of experience as a Program Coordinator within Pima County is acceptable.
- Demonstrated experience writing grant applications and managing grant administration and contracts.
- Experience developing business or strategic plans and applying goals, laws, regulations, policies, benchmarks, and milestones to program performance and compliance.
- Valid Arizona Class D driver’s license at the time of application or appointment.
