Pima County Regional Flood Control Department has an opening for a Community Engagement Specialist who will support the District’s outreach and communications efforts by assisting with website management, outreach material development, and staffing of public engagement events. The position will expand the District’s ability to participate in outreach opportunities and strengthen communication between District programs and the public. As the Community Engagement Specialist, you will be the primary web editor for our Civic Plus and Intranet sites and ensure content meets accessibility standards and compliance requirements, assist in outreach material coordination such as presentations and physical media, staff outreach events alongside other district personnel and support event preparation, and serve as secondary point of contact for general media requests and appearances, if appropriate.

* Assists in implementing and supporting promotional activities related to the advertisement and marketing of community programs or services;
* Supports the planning and participation in administrative and operational activities for community engagement programs;
* Collaborates with county departments and the public to support community engagement through various programs, outreach events, and educational activities;
* Assists in identifying and addressing barriers to participation for culturally and economically diverse communities, including currently and historically marginalized groups;
* Helps establish and maintain liaison relationships and coordinates community engagement activities with other departments, public and private agencies, and organizations;
* Provides support services to county and public associations, including assistance with communications, newsletters, activity planning, public relations, outreach efforts, and general information;
* Assists in organizing and facilitating community engagement activities and events;
* Supports the maintenance of related webpages and social media accounts;
* Assists in collecting and analyzing data, preparing reports, and compiling statistical materials for management review;
* Helps monitor and track expenditures related to community services or initiatives, contributing to data collection and reporting.
