Your RoleDirect Care Worker (DCW) / Direct Support Professional (DSP). As a DCW, you’ll support individuals with developmental disabilities in the office, homes, and community settings. You’ll encourage independence, promote engagement, and help clients achieve their personal goals with compassion and integrity.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with daily living activities (perineal care, bathing, grooming, toileting, eating, etc.)
- Provide light housekeeping, laundry, and meal prep
- Offer companionship and emotional support
- Follow Individual Support Plans (ISPs) with personalized goals
- Support community outings and activities
- Observe and report changes in behavior or condition
- Chart behavior or condition observations on the computer
- Drive or assist the driver in safely transporting individuals with disabilities, ensuring comfort and support during transit
- Ensure safety and dignity in every interaction
- Carry out additional duties as directed by the supervisor
- Must be 18+ years old
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CPR and First Aid Certification
- Article 9 Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Clean Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card (or ability to obtain)
- Able to pass a criminal background check
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally
- Prevention & Support Certification (especially for behavioral health)
- Experience working with individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities
