Position: Travel Hospital Pharmacist - $3,312 per week

Responsibilities

  • Safe, accurate, efficient distribution of pharmaceuticals to patients of all ages, employees, and designated hospital areas.
  • Practice in accordance with state/federal and DEA laws, TJC Standards, and hospital/departmental policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with physicians on drugs and dosing, educate nursing staff, patients and physicians regarding medications, medication safety initiatives, patient profiles, avoidance and reporting of adverse drug reactions, mix IV admixtures and nutritional supplements, and narcotic accountability.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Inpatient acute hospital experience required (2 years recent hospital pharmacist staffing experience).
  • Board Certified and/or accredited pharmacy residency preferred but not required.
  • ACLS & BLS certifications required.
  • Arizona Pharmacist License required.
  • Sterile compounding experience needed.
Schedule
  • 7 Nights On / 7 Nights Off: 8:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
  • Work shift:

    Wednesday through Tuesday.
  • No On Call.
  • No 48‑hour Guarantee.
  • No Blocked Scheduling.
  • Houghton Pharmacy will be open on CHS Recognized holidays.
Unit Information
  • Number of beds: 44 beds + Emergency Department.
Required vs

Preferred Skills/Experience
  • 2 years recent hospital pharmacist staffing, required to work independently.
  • Operating in a clean, smoke‑free, well‑lit healthcare work environment.
  • Considerable video display exposure and use of keyboard.
  • Occasional irregular hours, subject to many interruptions and frequent pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries.
  • Must be able to work independently and meet multiple project deadlines.
  • In clinical settings, exposed to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries and illness), subject to varying and unpredictable situations.
  • May perform emergency care; requires judgment/action that affect the health, well‑being, and positive outcomes for patients and employees.
  • Operational and people‑management skills resulting in patient satisfaction, ongoing quality improvement and employee engagement of a diverse population.
  • Proven success at working collaboratively with all stakeholders to meet key goals.
